By combining Belgian Blue Stone and Rouge Griotte Marble, I used some of the most noble materials dwelling within Belgium's territory. This monumental table suggests a brutalist approach while reflecting a minimalist philosophy, all thanks to the choice of materials, the simplicity of the rectangular elements that compose the piece and the rhythm originated by them. All the slabs support one another, as if they were building blocks interlocking the whole. A subtle contrast is evident through the presence of different finishing techniques -flamed, chiselled and softened-, a testimony to the expertise of Van den Weghe.
